Proof-texting/Bible-thumping

I could very well be wrong, but in my 61 years in the church I’ve not seen solid evidence that proof-texting without context has ever done anything except harm in the long run.

If we don’t let the ” author and finisher” of our faith be the final interpreter of all Scripture then we may be worshipping an ideology more than an incarnate God.

Thoughts from one of the guilty. I’ll just leave it there.
