Difference makers

Several nights ago, during a Christmas party at a local non-profit, I met a young cognitively impaired boy we’ll call “Jake”. He is the new foster child of one of the staff families and was having the time of his life playing with a fire truck he had gotten during the gift exchange.

I was moved beyond words to see a young family not only devote their time to serving needy and underprivileged children during the day, as part of their job, career, and calling, but also devoting themselves 24/7 to care for three foster children in their own home, one who’ve they recently adopted.

These young people are true difference makers.
